I first met Jamie when I shot her then fiance’s homecoming. It was the very first one I ever did. It was very exciting, standing with the crowd of families and friends, waiting to see their loved ones that they had not seen in a year. A year…I can’t even fathom that. Jamie and her fiance have since gotten married, and he is currently deployed again. While I imagine that no deployment is easy, this one seems to be particularly difficult for Jamie’s husband and his unit. So much loss. Talking with Jamie was a reminder of the sacrifices that people are still making every day.
